International Student Support

Extended Orientation
An extended orientation program was designed to respond to the unique needs of first year international graduate students as they transition into academic life. Two themes: Transition Well and Our Learning Community cover issues that new-to-Canada students face, and introduce tips and tricks for managing them. Contact us to register >>

International Academic Specialist
An academic specialist is available to support international graduate students' specific needs. Our advisor is your first point of contact on campus to answer your academic questions, or concerns.
International Student Services (ISS) provides support services and customized advising for all international students adjusting to life in Canada. Learn about accommodations, the cost of living, immigration and what you need to know before you arrive.
The Welcome Centre is a spring and summer term service that provides support and programming for new-to-Calgary students as they prepare to make Calgary their home. From planning your arrival and your first weeks in Calgary to finding a place to live, the Centre will help you get settled.
Graduate advisors and academic specialists help graduate and international graduate students make a smooth transition to a new academic environment. Workshops are offered on a regular basis to help you meet your research and writing deadlines.

This is a flexible English language program that enables international students to meet the English language proficiency level required for admission into their chosen undergraduate or graduate degree program at the University of Calgary, Canada's #1 young university.
